The Pershore Golf Society held its annual opening fixture of the new season at Stratford on Avon Golf Club 24 members and guests were made very welcome by incoming Captain Alan Hadley.

Inclement weather is usually the norm for this event, however for the players who did turn out their reward was good weather, hard frosted greens and a course presented in excellent condition for the time of year.

An number of scores in the Nett 70`s from the lower handicap members gave a clear indication of

the standard to expect in being able to win any of the numerous competitions in this years fixtures.
 
In Third place on count back was Neil Sheppard, Second Vic Hammond and a worthy First Place,
transferring his exhaustive practice form into a winning position was Scott Goldsmith.
 
The spoils of the numerous other prizes were won by:

This Years Captains Selected Charity - Lifeboat Appeal was also bolstered by fines and misdemeanors
to the tune of £30.00
